3 Steps To Get A Hotel Room That Fits Your Style

About Me
Scheduling A Great Trip

For quite some time, I was stuck in a serious rut. I was tired of my job and everything I was faced with in my personal life, so I started looking for a way out. I began talking with a therapist, and they suggested going through and working on organizing a vacation. As we explored different destinations and locales, we were able to find a really fantastic area that seemed like it would work for me. After I booked the trip, I felt a lot better knowing I had something to look forward to, and I felt powerful knowing I had made my life better. 3 Steps To Get A Hotel Room That Fits Your Style

Whether you're staying for one night or several weeks, your hotel room will be an important part of your overall trip experience. How can you boost your chances of getting the right room for your particular interests? Here are a few things anyone can do.

1. Know Your Priorities

What, specifically, do you want from your hotel room? Do you want a quiet space so you can get a good night's sleep? Are you looking for a superb view each morning? Do you want the ability to make meals in your own room? Do you want to avoid elevator noise or have a corner room where your kids won't bother the neighbors?

Whatever your personal priority list is, identify the most important things before you sit down to choose a room. If you have many "wants," pare these down to the most important so you keep your focus.

2. Talk to Staff Members

When you book a room, consider doing so with a real person rather than online. A local hotel staff member will know more about the rooms, the views, the amenities, and how to fit things to your needs. They may also be able to help you leave special requests for the room and know when the best check-in time may be to get the room you want.

Once at the hotel, let the check-in staff know what your priorities are when choosing a room — such as a large layout or close parking — so they can accommodate you. Speak kindly and thank them for any help they offer in this matter. Enjoyable customers often get better results. You may even find yourself granted wishes you hadn't expected.

3. "View" the Hotel First

One way for you to get to know the various room options for a hotel is to check it out in map programs first. Use mapping services to view a satellite-based image of the hotel and its surrounding area as well as one that gives a street-level image. Move around the hotel virtually to see what is on all sides, where the parking is located, the location of public transportation options (if needed), and the best potential views.

If you follow these steps before and during your booking process, you'll surely have a great experience with whatever room you choose. And then you can focus on the real purpose of your trip, whatever it may be.
